Your art is yours and not anybody else's, you don't need to prove your work to anybody, because if it makes you happy then its doing it's job!

About Me  My Art Journal    Ask me anything

We were looking at Jamie Reid’s (artist for Sex Pistols) work in college today, and we had to produce small composures of work in his style, using words that related to art elements, for example: pattern and tone, hence the play on words of ‘Rich tones’. I really liked these two I produced.

For the record I actually think the Queen is really cool, it’s not my opinion of the royals in the first picture.

Did a very quick, messy journal page in the last hour.

Living in Asia, I purchased an SLR about 8 years ago and read-up on photography to take better family photos.
My subsequent study has been from others including my uncle who has been a photographer since he was a child and once told me to forget the ‘how-to books’ and go to beautiful places and meet beautiful people to take beautiful pictures; which is easy to do in this part of the world. I learn by enjoying what others photograph or paint and for that Tumblr & Lensblr and all those who share their pictures are really helpful.
Learning photography is a fun journey and it is nice to be on this journey with others.

My art journal is actually getting ridiculously large! I’ve nearly run out of pages! This book has lasted me since January and I think it’ll be finished by the end of the year which is very good timing :)

It’s an A5 Softcover Moleskin :)

My next one is going to either be loose-leaf or a ring binder, because this book doesn’t let the paintings breathe well with the media I use :/ but I still love it!

New journal page! I like this one!

It’s from something my girlfriend told me a few days ago, when I asked her for things to describe me for a college project, and this is what she said, and it just sorta stuck in my head. It’s what I try to do for people, and it’s one of the nicest things anyone has said to me.

(Thankyou, Em)

:)
